To LED, or not to LED, that is the question. And the answer is quite simple: yes to installing LED down lights.

• LEDs might look hot but they’re not. In fact, they emit very little heat when compared to incandescent bulbs that release an epic 90% of their energy as heat. Yep, LEDs are the cool kids of the lighting scene. 

 
The first visible-spectrum LED was invented back in the 1960’s. Since then the technology has rapidly advanced and costs have significantly dropped. This means LEDS are now a viable lighting solution. 
 
Even local councils are switching to energy-efficient LED lights. Our local Council jumped on the LED bandwagon last year upgrading its street lighting network to LED bulbs. Sydney’s the Light Years Ahead project, estimates Sydney councils will save around $21 million over 20 years by certain councils making the switch. For example, Sydney City Council will save about $800,000 a year in electricity and maintenance costs alone.
